OTW by Vans collaborates with Julian Klincewicz, contemporary artist, director, photographer & musician, introducing a collection shaped by the Joyous Chorus, Julian’s world of everyday sketches, textures, and personal symbols. Anchored in the spontaneity of his daily practice, the lineup brings together updated takes on classic Vans silhouettes alongside apparel and accessories featuring his hand drawn artwork and signature details, creating an expression of Julian’s visual language.

The OTW by Vans x Julian Klincewicz footwear offering revisits two archival silhouettes, the Old Skool 36 and Style 31, through rich material textures and personal artistic details. Both models feature suede overlays, leather details with custom labels showcasing a road sketch from Julian’s 11 year ritual of daily to‑do list drawings, and a custom Roo charm honoring his golden retriever and red fox lab mix.

Each style is upgraded with a cushioned insole, soft padded collar, and Sola Foam ADC for all‑day comfort, along with a co‑branded Joyous Chorus footbed, OTW heel scab, and Vans’ signature waffle outsole. The Old Skool 36, is offered in Ivy Green and Mango Mojito Orange, while the Style 31 is available in Ink.

The apparel and accessories in the OTW by Vans x Julian Klincewicz collection extend the Joyous Chorus narrative through grounded materials and thoughtful artistic touches. The Collared Fleece, a French terry cotton blend with a soft vintage wash features a zipper pull Roo keychain. Two Vintage Washed Tee Shirts, offered in Mandarin Red and Pepper Orange soft cotton, spotlight screenprinted Joyous Chorus artwork.

Accessories include the Tote Bag with screenprinted Joyous Chorus artwork, antique brass hardware, and a Roo keychain. Additionally, a Fuzzy Sock Pack, a wool‑blend set featuring jacquard artwork turning everyday essentials into subtle extensions of Julian’s visual world.

“For this collaboration, I really wanted to base it around some early Southern California influences - skating, circus, music, new friendships, sunshine, the beach... I moved to San Diego when I was about 7, so a lot of those early impressions still have some of that child's perspective - playful colors, rough sketch drawings, long summer days at the skatepark... I think there's a sort of boyish determination in the whole thing, or some of that spirit... I was really imagining everything being completely worn in as I designed it. The shoes are meant to be so worn out - holes made from skating & adventuring... discolored from walking through puddles, colored on the sides with a pen... I think that's one of my favorite things about Vans specifically - it's that they're really made to be worn in; they gain life the longer you wear them. There's a kind of utility that I think gets lost as you get older... So that was a major touchstone for me with this one - making things that come further to life the more you wear them in.” - Julian Klincewicz

About Julian Klincewicz

About Julian Klincewicz Julian Klincewicz (B. 1995, Chicago IL) is a contemporary artist, director, photographer & musician based out of Los Angeles, California. Klincewicz grew up in the San Diego skate scene, which has been a huge influence on his multi-faceted approach to creating. With a highly textural & colorful approach to image making, Klincewicz’s work often explores themes of humanity & connection, generating dreamlike videos, pictures, and music. The lines between one form and another start to blend harmoniously into one another, creating layered artistic ecosystems. Klincewicz has developed an experimental & evocative approach that has made him a regular collaborator with pop-culture artists, designers and brands, including Virgil Abloh, Beyonce, Jay-Z, Louis Vuitton, Steve Lacy, Tame Impala, Leonard Cohen, Vans and Miu-miu, among many others. Klincewicz has exhibited works at the Foundation Louis Vuitton, The San Diego Art institute in California, and the Powerhouse Museum in Sydney Australia. For his 4th collaborative footwear project with Vans, and first project with vans OTW, Klincewicz explores themes from his childhood in the early 2000's when he first moved to San Diego. Skating, beach culture, circus, adventure, poetry, music, and geography all become touchstones in the collection & campaign (both directed & photographed by Klincewicz.) The collection centers around the Style 36 Old Skool, and the Style 31 (a personal favorite from the Vans archive), with the phrase "The Joyus Chorus" debossed along the heel. The phrase calls back to the many forms of community & support Klincewicz found in his new hometown.
