Vans partners with Metagirl to introduce the Premium Old Skool 36 Diva. A reimagining of Vans’ most iconic silhouette through a lens of radical femininity and multidimensional design. Building on a shared spirit of transformation and experimentation, the collaboration reshapes skate heritage into a statement where grit meets glamour and function gives way to fantasy.

Designed in collaboration with Italian designer and artist Caterina Mongillo, known as Metagirl, Vans x Metagirl celebrates contradiction, strength and softness, rawness and refinement, as core design principles. The shoe embraces excess and imperfection as expressions of freedom, elevating the familiar into something unapologetically expressive.

"Metagirl is about embracing the feminine that lies within all of us, and ‘Diva’ is the ultimate embodiment of that energy. I spend endless hours scrolling online marketplaces, obsessing over the craftsmanship and details of discontinued 2010s brands or discovering the underworld of vintage belt-buckle 18k-gold-rings. The Old Skool features a canvas upper, disrupted by snakeskin detailing and studs embedded in foxing tape around the vamp. A deliberately frayed white Sidestripe cuts through the upper with raw edged contrast, creating visual tension against the high shine hardware and embellishment.

A slanted snakeskin strap sits across the vamp, finished with rhinestone detailing and anchored by an oversized gold buckle encrusted with gemstones. Gold studs along the toe bumper and side further amplify the style’s tactile dimension, reinforcing Metagirl’s signature hyper-feminine approach to form. The collection is complete with a Ruffle Knee High Sock in White.

The Vans x Metagirl Premium Old Skool 36 Diva retails for 160 USD and will be available beginning May 28th on vans.com.
