Vans Releases the Old Skool™ 36 Pearlized Yacht Club
2026-09-03

Available September 10, 2026
Vans announces the release of the Old Skool 36 Pearlized Yacht Club, an ode to endless exploration, inspired by sailing flags from around the world. Viewed through an Off The Wall lens, the latest expression blends nautical color blocking with the irreverent spirit of ‘90s sport style.
Expanding Vans’ embellishment narrative, the Old Skool 36 Pearlized features the recognized pearl and crystal detailing across a distressed upper, evoking a well-traveled shoe that has been reworked and customized over time.
Supporting the launch, Vans followed DJ Hank Korsan at Paris’ Fête de la Musique, capturing the Old Skool 36 Pearlized though a cultural moment that celebrates music, creativity, and self-expression.

Style 36, the second skate shoe ever created by Vans, debuted in 1977. It was the first Vans shoe to feature the iconic Sidestripe™ and was renamed the Old Skool™ in the early ’90s before celebrating its 30th anniversary and officially becoming a Vans Classic. Design details include a high gloss
sidewall and detailed stitching.
The Old Skool 36 Pearlized reflects the Vans Premium ethos — emphasizing modern comfort, elevated materials, and updated form, fit, and feeling of Vans classic models.
The Old Skool 36 Pearlized retails for $130 USD. The Yacht Club colorway launches September 10, 2026, on Vans.com and at select Vans retail stores.

Pearlized Slip-On and Old Skool 36
We’re introducing new Pearlized designs with the Classic Slip-On Pearlized in Indigo, Black/Camo, and Black/Black, alongside fresh colorways of the Old Skool 36 Pearlized in Navy and Vintage Cocoa.
Expanding our embellishment story, the Classic Slip-On and Old Skool 36 Pearlized feature pearl and crystal details layered over distressed uppers. The result is a well-traveled look—like a favorite pair that’s been repaired, customized, and carried through countless destinations along the way.

Enduring generations, Style 98—now known as the Classic Slip-On—rose to prominence in Southern California shortly after it was introduced in 1979. Originally designed as a skate shoe, it was soon embraced by youth culture as an everyday shoe because of its straightforward design.
Design details include a higher glossed sidewall and detailed stitching.

The release comes off the heels of recent, and now sold-out releases, of the OTW by Vans x SATOSHI NAKAMOTO Pearlized Old Skool and Old Skool 36 Pearlized in Marshmallow and Fuchsia. The Classic Slip-On and Old Skool 36 Pearlized reflect our Premium ethos — emphasizing modern comfort, elevated materials, and updated form, fit, and feeling of classic models.
The Classic Slip-On and Old Skool 36 Pearlized retail between $110-$130 USD. The Classic Slip-On Pearlized in Indigo, Black/Black, Camo/Black and Old Skool 36 Pearlized in Navy will be available on Vans.com and select Vans retail stores on March 19. The Old Skool 36 Pearlized in Vintage Cocoa will drop on April 21.

Vans Old Skool 36 Pearlized
The Old Skool 36 Pearlized reimagined a Vans icon with a worn-in edge. Pearl and crystal embellishments met distressed uppers, creating the look of a pair that’s been repaired, customized, and shaped by miles of wear.
Two colorways defined the drop. A Fuchsia edition leaned into a nostalgic, punk-inspired palette with black paneling and contrast stitching, while the Marshmallow colorway kept things crisp and understated, finished with a subtle black stripe through the sole.
Both pairs carried a vintage sensibility. Pre-scuffed midsoles and distressed laces added the well-worn character that’s long been part of skate culture—shoes that look like they’ve already lived a few stories.
Originally introduced in 1977 as Style 36, the silhouette was the second skate shoe ever made by Vans and the first to feature the now-iconic Sidestripe™. Renamed the Old Skool™ Shoe in the early ’90s, it has remained one of Vans’ most recognizable Classics.

Released following the sold-out OTW by Vans x Satoshi Nakamoto Pearlized Old Skool, the Old Skool 36 Pearlized carried forward the Vans Premium approach—bringing elevated materials, modern comfort, and refined form, fit, and feel to a timeless silhouette.
Now sold out, the Old Skool 36 Pearlized stands as another chapter in the ongoing evolution of the Old Skool.
