Chris Cosentino has been a staple of San Francisco’s culinary world for nearly two decades where he first drew acclaim for his whole-animal cooking approach as executive chef at Incanto restaurant, while his commitment to sustainable food principles was solidified in his James Beard Award nominated book Offal Good: Cooking from the Heart with Guts.

More recent, Cosentino was known for Cockscomb, the San Francisco restaurant he opened in 2014 showcasing the diversity of SF cuisine through sustainable meats and seafood. Cockscomb unfortunately shuttered in October 2020 due to on-going pandemic hardships, however Cosentino continues to co-own Jackrabbit in Portland, Oregon, Acacia House in Napa Valley, California and Rosalie in Houston, Texas. Cosentino won season four of BRAVO’s “Top Chef Masters,” and has appeared as a “celebrity chef” on various shows including the FOOD Network’s “Tournament of Champions” as recently as March 2021.

For his latest Vans collaboration, chef Cosentino reworked the Makers Old Skool UltraCush and Slip-On UltraCush for a food-focused lifestyle. Both shoes feature durable liquid and dirt repellant Vansguard® uppers, UltraCush footbeds and the “Made for the Makers” slip-resistant, vulcanized lugged outsoles, to offer comfort for days without sacrificing personal style. The slip and stain resistant Vans classics subtly reference the seafood trade in True White canvas, with Chili Pepper suede highlights and a Black midsole. The addition of chef Cosentino’s “Inspected for wholesome goodness by C.C.” logo embossed into the heel completes the design, while a matching t-shirt with a cartoon drawn by Jeremy Fish of the chef’s likeness (which is also printed on each shoe’s sockliner) rounds out the release.

“Having a partnership with Vans is a childhood dream come true, creating this special collaboration allows me to have the comfort & style with all the benefits of a tough shoe for everyday.” - Chris Cosentino
