OTW by Vans x Beatrice Domond

OTW by Vans and Beatrice Domond have come together to design an all-new style, the OTW by Vans Mary Jane DS by Beatrice Domond, inspired by Beatrice’s personal style and drawing on her personal history and career in skateboarding.

The OTW by Vans Mary Jane DS by Beatrice Domond hybridizes the classic Vans Mary Jane for a timeless style modernized with a rugged statement outsole and featuring a premium leather and suede upper in monochromatic black and goatskin linings. The style pulls influences from fashion and Beatrice’s personal life, including her Haitian family heritage and her childhood.

Down to the insole, the shoe is personalized to Beatrice’s own story, with a digitally printed map of Haiti on the sockliner as a representation of her family history. The shoe’s custom packaging is inspired by throwback Vans’ skate boxes and decorated with Beatrice’s signature and custom logo.

Beatrice revisits her personal history in a campaign film by director Sandy Kim and co-directed by Domond and her partner, Z Inwoon, in which Beatrice and her grandmother Elise discuss their shared heritage in her hometown of Miami. The film explores Beatrice’s relationship to family and her perseverance in pursuit of her career, as well as her continued quest for deeper self-expression through sport and style.

In the film, Elise recounts memories from Beatrice’s childhood in Haitian Creole while Beatrice responds in English, charting an evolution from her beginnings to achievements in her career as an homage to her grandmother and mother, the women who set her on a course to achieve her dreams.
