Vans Authentic Takeover: Europe’s Key Cities Went Off The Wall

60 years. One silhouette.

2026-05-06

To celebrate the 60th anniversary of the Vans Authentic, Vans took over key stores across Europe - transforming everyday retail environments into loud, creative spaces built for self expression. Across London, Milan, Paris, Barcelona, Amsterdam and Madrid, the Authentic became the common ground where art, music and community collided.

True to the spirit of Off The Wall, the campaign dropped scene shaping talent into controlled, familiar spaces and bent the rules from the inside. Live music, DJ sets and workshops injected energy into stores, turning them into moments of chaos, connection and culture. Artists reworked the Authentic live and guided hands on customization sessions, inviting people to make the shoe completely their own.

From live performances and screen printing to charms, tote bags, wheels of fortune and in store activations, every touchpoint was designed to pull people in and get them involved - not as spectators, but as participants. Shoppers, creators, Vans Family members and walk ins all became part of the experience, blurring the lines between retail and culture.

At its core, the takeover wasn’t about the shoe alone. It was about what the Authentic has stood for over the last six decades: a platform for individuality, creative freedom and those who refuse to conform. A silhouette worn by people shaping scenes, breaking boundaries and carrying their loudest lives across streets, stages and everyday spaces.

Off The Wall doesn’t sit still. Neither does the Authentic.
