The way Ronnie Sandoval plucks tricks out of skateboarding's past,
personalizes them, and shoots them with adrenaline is an homage to his
first love. San Pedro, California is a small, working-class town in
Los Angeles County, boasting deep ties to the lineage of American
hardcore punk, with the Minutemen most famously throwing Pedro's
anchor across the US. Persistence and a lack of pretension shot Ronnie
from a Channel Street local to Am for Krooked.
Known for
his transition skills, Ronnie’s able to be equally as unorthodox, yet
stylish on street, making it all seem free, easy, and seamless. In
2017, he joined the Vans Park Series circuit, as well as earning pro
status with Krooked, making him the second skater from San Pedro to
make the jump. Most
recently, Ronnie proved himself yet again, filming the end part in
Vans’
Take It Back
(2019).
