VANGUARDS

In 2019 we launched Vanguards, an exploration of how style, individuality and creativity shape skateboarding, seen through the lenses of Vans team riders. Vanguards aims to not only tell a story of four women but invites everyone to experience the creative depth that surrounds what we cherish most – skateboarding. So far, we have encouraged over 7,000 global newcomers to skateboarding and remain committed to growing and sustaining skateboarding worldwide by hosting a brand-new series of women’s skate workshops across the globe so girls can see more girls skating.

CUSTOM CULTURE

For over ten years, Vans has provided a platform for high school students to embrace their creativity and self-expression in our Custom Culture Competition.When art education budgets began to diminish, we put our foot forward and to date have contributed more than $1,000,000 towards art education to fuel creativity across the U.S.. Our mission is to inspire and empower all high school students to embrace their creativity through art and design and to bring attention to diminishing arts education budgets.

VANS PARK SERIES

Established in 2016, the Vans Park Series is the premier competitive platform for professional park terrain skateboarding.The mission is to inspire youth and grow skateboarding participation worldwide. We are committed to our principal of gender equality and award our purse prize of over $700,000, regardless of gender. Additionally, we support the ongoing development of skate communities as we construct and donate state-of-the-art, VPS-certified park terrain skate facilities throughout the globe so people of all ages and backgrounds have a place to skate. The 2019 series, will see Vans build 3 new skateparks and donate them to the communities of Montreal, Paris and Salt Lake City. We’ve now donated a total of 5 parks to local communities (including Malmo and Sao Paulo) since the series began.
