A Maine to Nova Scotia transplant, Dean Petty (or Dingo as he’s affectionately known) has been influential in putting Canada’s East Coast on the map as a viable surf destination.
After moving up the road from coastal Maine to coastal Nova Scotia, Petty made friends quickly with the surf crowd based around Lawrencetown. An openness to riding all types of surfboards, from big logs to finless shorties, has helped Petty make the most of the unpredictable and varying waves that Nova Scotia is known for. Exuding pure style whether he’s up on the nose of longboard, or sitting in the backseat of a shralpy thruster, Dingo is a perfect example of someone making the absolute most out of what he’s got.
