The Skate Witches started as a way to create connection in a niche skate scene, and became something more. Tired of not seeing skaters they identified with represented in mainstream skate magazines and films, the founders decided to make their own media instead. Built entirely on submissions, The Skate Witches print zine is a platform to celebrate the often overlooked skaters, photographers, and communities around the world. Beyond the zine, the community seeks to inspire skaters globally through events and videos. Through the unique blend of skateboarding, art, humor, and the DIY ethos, The Skate Witches are creating the world they want to see.
Join women, trans, non-binary, and gender non-conforming skateboarders for a series of online photo, video, and writing workshops hosted by The Skate Witches. At the end of each workshop, show us what you made for a chance to win free Vans gear and have your work featured in upcoming The Skate Witches zine and video.
Norma, Sarah, Ashley, and Chantal take you through the fundamentals of skate photography, and offer tips and tricks for getting the most out of your shots. Test your skills and enter your own photography beginning July 9th.
