The Van Doren Invitational Skate Qualifiers are Done and You Can Get the Low Down Here

Day 7 of the Vans US Open of Suring marked the beginning of the Van Doren Skate Invitational contest at the concrete bowl and it was a good one. The jam format pit multiple competitors against each other, skating in the bowl simultaneously. Vincent Matheron put on an impressive performance in jam number 2 of the skate contest. The Van Doren Invitational Women’s Contest went down on Day 5 of the Vans US Open of Surfing and Lizzie Armanto killed it and took the top spot. The new crop of women rippers are taking things to the next level so make sure to watch the highlights on Thrasher Magazine.

Last but not least, the Shop Battle took place at the concrete bowl on Day 3 of the Vans US Open of Surfing and it was one for the books! 11 shops from California and Arizona brought their top 3 riders to jam in the bowl for 5 minutes. Active Ride Shop and Val Surf were on top of the pile after all the dust settled. After a 15 minute final jam heat it was Val Surf team that walked away with the $2,000 and a new axe.
