Vans x National Geographic

National Geographic has been inspiring the explorer in everyone for 132 years through groundbreaking storytelling and scientific discovery. In celebration of this legacy, Vans announces the Vans x National Geographic collection featuring footwear and apparel to inspire creative expression and ignite the explorer in all of us.

Whether it’s discovering the Titanic wreckage, excavating the ruins of Machu Picchu, or leading the first American expedition to the summit of Mt. Everest, National Geographic has a legacy of using the power of storytelling to bring these adventures to life for audiences across the globe. Driven by curiosity, this commitment to exploration resonates with both the National Geographic audience and the Vans consumer—who fearlessly champion individuality and pushing creative boundaries. Based on both brands’ deep appreciation for the environment, the materials utilized in this collection were thoughtful, including organic cotton canvas uppers, recycled PET shoelaces and packaging.

For the collection, unique National Geographic photographs and logos are featured on six of Vans’ classic silhouettes — the Sk8-Hi Reissue 138, Old Skool, Authentic, Era, Classic Slip-On, and UltraRange EXO. Equally as recognizable as the Vans Sidestripe, National Geographic’s yellow border evokes a sense of adventure and boundless discovery. Both logos are proudly featured on a key style from the collection, the Sk8-Hi Reissue 138. The Era stands out with its all-over print featuring iconic National Geographic magazine covers from the past. Kids can also express their inner explorer when wearing the Xtreme Ranger patterned with the National Geographic logo or the Classic Slip-On covered in a kaleidoscope of unique images from the National Geographic Photo Ark, photographer Joel Sartore’s effort to document every species in support of wildlife conservation.

The apparel offering includes styles and accessories for both men and women. Made with heavy cotton jersey materialization, the women’s long-sleeve cropped tee features a screen-printed National Geographic Society seal on the front and Vans’ iconic checkerboard print running down the sleeves. Pair this top with the National Geographic recycled-twill ball cap and sturdy tote bag to complete the look.

Key men’s apparel styles include the National Geographic short-sleeve tee with a Vans logo on the front and National Geographic globe graphic on the back. A highlight of the collection is the Nat Geo Voyage Boardshort, made with 100% renewable plant-based Sonora fibers. The boardshort is embroidered with Vans branding along with a National Geographic globe patch and logo. Rounding out the look is the National Geographic Ward Crossbody Pack, perfect for everyday items or carrying essentials.
