Vans Classic Lites Reimagined by Graphic Artist Don Pendleton
This fall, Vans elevates the new Classic Lites collection with a three—piece capsule designed by Ohio-based artist Don Pendleton. As a celebrated skateboard graphic artist, Don Pendleton brings his deep roots in skateboarding and art to life on three innovative LXVI styles. Don’s ability to incorporate references to ambiguous characters as they compete for space within his unique linear compositions creates an expressive reflection on the state of contemporary society and culture. Don’s unique designs can be found on the new Authentic Lite, Sk8-Hi Lite and the Iso 2 Mid.
Season after season, the Vans LXVI collection builds on the momentum of Van’s Classic Lite assortment, offering more than 20 styles in original Vans silhouettes upgraded with innovative technology to provide superior comfort, flex and fit. The Classic Lites assortment includes the Authentic Lite, the Slip-On Lite, the Sk8-Hi Lite and the Old Skool Lite. The new fall line spans classic color schemes and patterns of all kinds including a vibrant “Scramble” motif, seasonal earth tones, waxed canvas, and basic solids.
The Classic Lite capsule represents the most direct interpretation of LXVI design principles. Vans’ most iconic styles are re-engineered using modern construction methods to improve fit, increase comfort and reduce the overall weight. While each style still maintains its classic aesthetic, a completely new fit and feel will be experienced, thanks to Vans’ ActionFit™ last shape as well as an UltraCush™ Lite bottom unit and footbed.
