Vans is partnering with esteemed record label, art house, and
cultural incubator, Ghostly International, for a collaborative project
in celebration of their 20th anniversary. Utilizing Vans’
Classic silhouettes, the collection merges Vans’ timeless aesthetic
with Ghostly’s iconic label logo adorned across both the Slip-On and
Sk8-Hi. The collection is available online and in select retailers.
“We think of each of our over 500 releases as collaborations between artists, and we’re happy to work with a legendary brand like Vans. They’ve always had music and creativity at their core. The chance to design shoes with them is a dream come true,” says Ghostly founder and creative director Sam Valenti.
For this collaboration, the Slip-on blends Ghostly’s label logo in true white alongside a reflective print across the entire shoe canvas. The Sk8-Hi also centers around the label’s logo, featuring a reflective print on the quarters and eye row with the addition of a matte finish on the eyelets. The effect is similar to Ghostly’s aim to evolve and change with each impression.
In addition to the footwear, Vans and Ghostly build on their
existing event partnerships in September and October, including
a Ghostly Knowledge Share workshop, which aims to connect young
aspiring creatives alongside established artists to introduce them to
new avenues in music and art.
