Bouncing off the Walls with Frances Quinlan
Frances Quinlan is a singer, songwriter, painter, and lead of the band Hop Along. Frances started writing songs as a teenager and went on to begin a solo acoustic project at the end of high school, when she released (under her moniker at the time "Hop Along, Queen Ansleis") her first EP, called "Sympathetic Flypaper"--as stamped CDR's in individually hand-painted sleeves by Quinlan. She recorded her first full-length solo album in 2005, “Freshman Year”, under the same name, and also released via stamped CDR's in hand-constructed sleeves. The moniker was shortened to Hop Along after college, when the project transitioned into a full band that includes her brother Mark on drums (2008) and Tyler Long on bass (2009), with their friend/producer Joe Reinhart joining the band as lead guitarist officially in 2013. Her most recent album Likewise is the first solo album released under her own name and was released by Saddle Creek Records January 2020. For Frances Quinlan’s participation in this Bouncing Off The Walls series, Vans will make a donation to the MusiCares® COVID-19 Relief Fund.
