Vans x S.R. STUDIO. LA. CA.

OTW by Vans is teaming up once again with artist Sterling Ruby for a second collaborative collection with S.R. STUDIO. LA. CA.

This 7-piece collection features both footwear and apparel, and builds upon the color schemes and design themes of the first collection, released in February earlier this year.

For this new iteration, the neon green and orange hues from the first drop have matured into deep green and gold tones, accompanying motifs of rotting jack-o-lanterns and monster claws derived from visual fascinations present in Ruby's fine art practice. 

“I've been photographing our family's decomposing Jack O'Lanterns after Halloween for years. In an acceleration of life, they transform into fascinating  abstractions. I love capturing these raw, unfiltered moments,” said Ruby. 

The collection introduces 4 footwear silhouettes, all built on OTW Vibram soles. The Old Skool 36, the Sk8-Hi 38, and the Slip-On 98 are available in solid hues or imprinted with the SR claw pattern in orange and green. Following OTW by Vans’ commitment to elevated fabrication, each silhouette is constructed with premium materials like goatskin collar linings and glossy sidewalls.

The apparel offering – the first from the collaboration between OTW by Vans and S.R. STUDIO. LA. CA. – consists of a t-shirt, long-sleeve tee, and a hoodie, each featuring a decomposing jack-o-lantern graphic, OTW by Vans and S.R. STUDIO. LA. CA. co-branding, and the expression, “ABSOLUTE CONTEMPT FOR TOTAL SERENITY”, a reference to Ruby’s ACTS sculpture series.
