Vans and PALACE Crown the Vans Low 2 as “Skate Shoes of the Year”

2026-02-27

Vans and PALACE come together to unveil the Vans Low 2, a limited-edition collaboration engineered for skate performance and designed with co-branded, London-meets-California aesthetics. Built on Vans’ most advanced vulcanized low-top platform, the Vans Low 2 by PALACE delivers elite impact protection, durability, and grip, without sacrificing boardfeel.

Dubbed “Skate Shoes of the Year,” the Vans Low 2 by PALACE features Vans’ best supporting cushioning system in a vulcanized low-top, anchored by PopCush™ insoles for maximum impact protection with precise board control. The silhouette is reinforced with DuraCap™ underlays in high-wear zones for extended durability, while Vans’ SickStick™ rubber compound and signature waffle outsole provide next-level grip and control on and off the board.

The release arrives in two custom colorways, designed in collaboration with PALACE and finished with co-branded design details that reflect the label’s irreverent visual language. The result is a performance-driven skate shoe that merges Vans’ technical skate heritage with PALACE’s distinct street and skate sensibility.

To launch the collection, Vans and PALACE present “S.S.O.T.Y:  The Skate Shoes of the Year” awards ceremony video campaign starring Vans Skate Team riders Danny Brady and Rory Milanes. Set in a lavish, skate shoe-based awards show, the film features Brady and Milanes delivering standout, tongue-in-cheek performances that celebrate the Vans Low 2 by PALACE as a performance icon, while underscoring the irreverent humor shared by both brands.

The Vans Low 2 by PALACE will be available on https://palaceskateboards.com/ and at PALACE flagship stores on February 27th (UK/EU/US) and February 28th (APAC).
