Tony Trujillos signature Checkerboard TNT SG, a low top lace-up silhouette inspired by the Vans classic Old Skool, is made with suede and printed suede uppers. The UltraCush HD footbed keeps the foot close to the board while providing the highest level of impact cushioning, and the original waffle outsole allows for a firmer grip. Featuring Pro Vulc construction, the TNT SG offers added comfort and protection to deliver the best in boardfeel, flex, and traction.

I wish the folks at Vans would start to realize that a lot of us love their shoes' uppers and (especially) their soles, but hate when the models of the shoes we want only come with the "old school" style, overly (or totally) flat inserts. I love the design of the old schools, but those flat inserts kill my feet when I skate. They should explicitly advertise what kind of inserts are in the shoes (rather than just showing pictures), and better yet--give us the option of buying more arch-supported inserts to replace the flat ones. That's what I did with these--took out the flat factory inserts and replaced them with ones from my last pair of Vans.

Ripped
I have only warn these about 5 or 6 times for every day use. They ripped on the side after a few wears.

I have worn Vans for many years. Even worked for the company for a short while. Usually a very good product. I even used to always skate in my shoes and they would last forever. These shoes I just bought for every day wear and not for skating.
Said 15% off next order ,when I tried to order it was 15% off NEXT ORDER. How many order thinking it was offered on the actual next order? Tricky advertising I would recommend the product with a warning to read promotion. 5 star for vans products.
My goal was to replace the Vans "Wylle" (VN-0KYG5U3) shoe I've enjoyed for some time. Unfortunately, it appears as if Vans has decided to discontinue that product - as it doesn't appear to be listed as available. The on-line display of the Vans TNT SG that I recently purchased appeared to be close to what I really wanted - but in reality, the style and construction details are much less than the "Wylle". Perhaps I'll locate a shoe designed closer to the Vans "Wylle" at another time - maybe from another manufacturer.
Service and delivery comments:
Purchase experience and delivery details were satisfactory
The sizing runs small. the return labeling makes it really easy to pop them back in the mail while I await the delivery of the reorder in the next size
appreciated the honesty from the sales staff, great in store experience. will definitely buy more vans shoes.....but I need to go to the store because my size varies with different styles
Merchant response: Yeah the Wylie was discountinued a while ago. You can try out the Rowley pro as an alternative, http://www.vans.com/shop/mens-shoes-skate/rowley-pro-poseidon-white
