Vans Earns Recognition at Transworld SKATEboarding Awards

A proud moment in skateboarding came to fruition last night as Vans co-founder Steve Van Doren accepted the Eric Stricker Memorial Award at the 15th Annual TransWorld SKATEboarding Awards held in Hollywood, CA. TransWorld SKATEboarding honors Van Doren for his passionate contributions to skateboarding and his life long devotion to support the skateboarding community as a whole. Vans is equally proud to congratulate Vans team rider Gilbert Crockett for his exciting win as Best Rookie.
In memory of TWS Editor Eric Stricker and awarded by TransWorld SKATEboarding's editorial staff, the Eric Stricker Memorial Award award recognizes individuals in the industry who have demonstrated a continued dedication to the positive growth, longevity, and love of skateboarding.
Gilbert is ecognized for his successful year of coverage, and impressive amount of video footage in The Cinematographer Project and looks forward to his first Pro segment in Vans' highly anticipated inaugural skate video.
