This Labor Day weekend, September 3rd - 4th, the world’s best professional skateboarders will descend on the RFK Stadium Festival Grounds and compete on a brand new custom-designed skate park, for a shot at the top prize of $160,000 cash and the first-ever Maloof Money Cup presented by Vans D.C. title. Thanks to support from Events D.C. and Vans, the skate park will be left behind for the community to use year-round, after the contest. The Maloof Money Cup D.C. will also feature a 50,000 square-foot Festival Village offering DJ’s, autograph signings with pro skaters, merchandise, food vendors and skateboarding activities for all ages. Access to the Festival Village is free and open to the public.
Tickets for the MMC D.C. contest are almost sold out, with only a few more general admission tickets available. Go to ticketmaster.com to purchase tickets. Standing room only tickets offering prime viewing of the contest are available through local skateboard shops and through promotional giveaways. Check Maloofmoneycup.com for giveaway schedule. While tickets are necessary to get into the skate competition, the Festival Village is free and no ticket is required for entry.
