It was a successful best trick on the four stair rail, a lot of tricks went down and for once the locals were out-shined by two new faces to the park, Alan Hodan, and Garrett Dindle. Alan Hodan received first place with his kickflip back crook down the rail and he went home with a new pair of shoes. Garrett Dindle was given a T-shirt and a Free Skate Pass because the contest was such a close call. Garrett did frontside 270 lipslide to regular, as well as other hard tricks like 180 nosegrind, 180 50-50, and front bluntslide. How could we not have given Garrett something for all those killer tricks! Overall, it was an awesome best trick and it's always great to see new faces at the park!

What is 12 feet high, 40 feet long and gives no mercy? No it's not Dwight Howard from the Orlando Magic...it's our mammoth Vert Ramp! We just wrapped up our March Best Trick Contest here in Orlando. This best trick was timed perfectly because Tampa Am Vert is next weekend! What a great way to get warmed up for a major contest! We had a total of eight skaters that dared to mess with our ramp and the results were jaw dropping. It was so rad to see these kids killing it...they made this ramp a play toy. So here is how the carnage went down. First to drop in was Anthony Pruitt...Anthony had his backside nosegrinds dialed. He went for a frontside nosegrind to lipslide but just couldn't keep it underneath him. Next we had Chris Kozma displaying his vert skills. Chris had your basic air to fakies and even a gay twist! So sick! Dropping in next was another hometown local, Stone Denning. Stone attempted a backside varial but just couldn't get the right footing to roll away. And these next three skaters are our Tampa Am contestants. Two of the skaters hail all the way from Brazil! First to mention is Carlos Silva. Carlos had so many solid tricks from a backside mute 540 to a kickflip indy! Carlos tried lining up a nollie backside varial heel indy but just couldn't get the right flick. His partner in crime was Leonardo Ruiz...Leo killed it so hard and landed so many tricks. A couple of Leo's tricks to name was a huge one footed japan air in practice, a melon 540 and a huge varial flip to melon! Leo went for a 540 varial but just couldn't get his spin right. The last Tampa Am contestant was Alex Sorgento...he hails from Lakewood, FL and you may know him from the AM Combi Party that took place at The Block...he took first place in the 14 and under division. So you may have guessed it, Alex was our winner tonight. Alex did a backside kickflip indy, right into a backside heelflip indy and right into his "every try" blunt to fakie. Alex's best trick of the night was his lien to tailslide to revert, and it was in the middle of one of his runs! Hands down, 13 year old Alex Sorgento takes this month's Best Trick contest! Congrats to him and to everyone who skated the ramp because I know from experience, it's not easy. Well, where there is an end there is another beginning, and by beginning I mean to begin training for our next month's best trick obstacle, the Outdoor Course Step Up. Thank you to everyone who came out to support these gnarly skaters and we will see everyone next month when we take this party outside!
