Justin Quintal Wins Joel Tudor Invitational Presented by Vans at the ECSC

After whittling the initial 16 down to the four finalists, Jacksonville, Florida native Justin Quintal took home $4,000 for first place, Aussie Harrison Roach $3,000 for second, Long Island rider Mike Detemple $2,000 for third and SoCal longboarder Tyler Warren pocketed $1,000 for fourth spot. Quintal was a wildcard entry, the last surfer entered into the field following a win at the nose riding event at Oceanside, California last week. He also claimed the ECSC Pro Longboard title.
"I'm just stoked that all the guys represented longboarding so well and that the crowd was as receptive as they were," said contest director and Vans team rider Joel Tudor. "The subtle elegance that our guys showed on the longboards complement the technical and fast riding in the shortboard contests. I think the fans would really enjoy it if more surf organizers incorporated the single fin longboarding into the events."
