Hey this is Brandon giving you a head up on Best Trick on the Step up Hubba. Had a lot of sign ups early on and even more skating the contest. One of the locals steps up the bar within a minute into the contest with back smith up the step up. David another local showed him up by doing back smith down the hubba. Once we got all the first-try tricks out of the way the next 10 minutes where filled with a lot of trial and error. We had little Brian, the winner of last months best trick, competing for fun. There were some unique tricks going down like ollie board on the other side of the hubba, as well as footplants and boardslides. Some kids dropped out and started cheering on there friends. Vince had landed heal flip 5-0 and was trying for shuv 5-0 down the step up, but kept missing the ledge by millimeters. With the contest coming to a finish it was to close to call with BS smith down or Heel 5-0 up. Getting a 2nd and 3rd opinion we decided on Vincent Martinez's Heel 5-0 taking home the shoes.

What to do on a beautiful Florida Friday night? Go see a movie, maybe a little miniature golf, or go out to a fancy dinner? Well I know what 24 skaters did, they came to the Vans Skate Park and ripped the July Vans Best Trick Contest! I have to say, this was one of the most intense and action packed best trick contests this year! We had 24 shredders show up and kill this month's obstacle the spine ramp. But before I start just rifling names and tricks, this was the best contest to watch but the hardest to keep up with...at one time we had 6 people skating our 20' wide spine! That's ca-wazie! So getting right down to business, Dylan Usma charged over the spine with a huge bennihana! Josue Sanchez whipped up a text book kickflip backside disaster. Chris Kozma wound up a mean fakie 270 to feeble stall 270 back out. Moving right along we have to stop and check out my "Oh So Close" list of tricks. Daniel Tackett making a special guest appearance tonight and came so close to a nollie half cab heelflip to disaster. Maybe next time buddy! So with 24 skaters skating one itty bitty spine ramp, of course your going to have a bunch of collisions. I have to say coming in first place with the most collisions is Ryan Brazzell...congrats dude! Now get out of everybody's' way, because flying past you is Jacob Portillo with a 360 flip rock to fakie! Not only did he land a rad trick, he cracked his deck too! And not only did he just crack his deck, he one-upped himself with a 360 flip rock and roll! Now this next skater definitely knows how to ride some transition. Flying over the spine and landing it every time, Jacob Welsch did not miss one frontside 360 handplant! With time running short on the contest, Jacob launched up to the extension, and did finger-flip disaster revert! Both Jacobs absolutely destroyed it! My main man Joe Ceravolo came in and showed everyone he was the king of the spine this year! Joe worked on a blunt stall 360 flip to fakie for a good 5 minutes. Joe landed the blunt 360 flip to fakie with no error, and with no questions asked, took this month's Best Trick! So you may think, "So, Joe won. He sat down and waited until the contest was over...right?" Absolutely not! He got right back in and performed a half cab blunt kickflip to fakie first try! So without a doubt, Joe Ceravolo is this month's Best Trick Winner! Congratulations to Joe and to everybody because everyone killed it! Thanks to all of the skaters that showed up and made this Best Trick one of the year's best! Signing off from sunny Orlando, FL this is Bryan Pederson saying "We'll see you next month when we host the next Best Trick on the Main Street Course Launch Ramp!" Thanks, everyone and we will see you then!
