Picture this scenario...you're walking through Festival Bay Mall and your belly is full of the best cheeseburger that you have ever had...you hear loud music and cheering emerging from the Vans Park...what's going on you may ask? It's June's Best Trick contest! Grab a seat, because tonight's contest was a doozy! We hosted this month's best trick on the main street course hubbas. Right out of the gate the skaters ran a train on the hubbas with their basic tricks. 50-50 BOOM! 5-0 BOOM! Tailslide BOOM! Now it's time to get down to business. Dalton Dern came flying through with a stylish laid back frontside boardslide. Nick Babich got dirty with a lipslide across and popped right back into the bank. Joe Ceravolo makes the infamous "Oh! So close!" list of tricks with a smith grind across to tailslide down. That would have been a sight. Brian Upapong gets legit with a lipslide across to 50-50 down. Then, reverses his maneuver to a 50-50 across to lipslide down! Props to Brian! Moving right along, we catch up with Mo Herard. He's consistently landing 5-0 across and down the hubba. Wonder what he's cooking. We'll check back in with him after we visit Dalton getting extremely close to a smith across to kickflip out. A few tries later, brought to you by the letter "R" for radical, Dalton lands a perfect smith kickflip out. Back to Mo. Now at the very end of his trick he isn't landing the 5-0. What's going on? Well, he answers everyone with an unexpected 5-0 across and down to front blunt! He was so stoked and so was the judges. We award him with the best and most creative trick for this month's best trick contest! I would like to give a thanks to our sponsors for the night: Vans, Vans, Vans and you guessed it Vans! A big thanks to all of our spectators that stopped in to watch an awesome event. With the year moving along so quick, we will be rolling up to the Spine Ramp in July to host our next best trick contest. See you there!

Hey, it's that time once again.....you know it! This month the Best Trick contest went down on the loading dock at the Block. We had a great vibe on the sidelines from the crowd cheering on all the riders as watchers from the top deck clapped with excitement for the top contenders. Competition gets underway and tricks started dropping right out the gates, Justin Drysen set the bar with a first try buttery backside bigspin. He followed that up by a second try backside 360. While Chris Drysen attempted to floss his skills with a laser flip but came up short from pulling it off. Honorable mentions of attempted tricks goes out to Domonique Sanders with a huuuuge 360flip/benihana, Ryan miles with a b/s flip, and Bryan Landa trying to execute a pop-shuv tailgrab to seal the deal! With time running out, likely winners for the number one spot were sure to be Justin Drysen landing a steezy 360 shuvit and a mind-blowing backside 360 kickflip. Competition was just getting heated when Anthony Carrillo fired back with a double kickflip and a ridiculous backside 180 late back foot flip. (did you get that?) yeah sooo did we! Ridiculous! Its now Anthony Carrillo with top spot and the celebrating starts, but hold on kids, with 2 minutes left in the contest here comes Tyler Thompson sticking a face melting fakie cab 540 flip and lighting the crowd up and the rest of the comp. like the 4th of July! Needless to say it is yet again, Tyler Thompson taking the glory and his free pair of shoes to the streets with the bragging rights as Best trick Winner found only right here at the Vans Skatepark of Orange. Congrats once again Tyler.
