Celebrity judges included actress Nikki Reed (Twilight, Lords of Dogtown), skate legend Tony Alva, Keith Morris of Black Flag and Circle Jerks, painter Greg "Pnut" Galinsky and Kristina Dechter, Editor-in-Chief of Foam magazine.
"I'm so impressed with all these kids. It's breaking my heart that we need to pick just one top prize, but with the trip out to Southern California, they are all winners. I really admire them," said Nikki Reed.
Teacher Matthew Lutz's Rio Rancho class initially was chosen through a highly competitive process that narrowed the 326 schools to 20 regional finalists. The four national finalists were then chosen by nationwide online voting. The three runners-up that also displayed at the Museum were Franklin Pierce High School (Tacoma, WA), Plainview-Old Bethpage High School (Plainview, NY) and Eastern High School (Louisville, KY).
Vans was in the house at OCMA on Saturday.
