Back for some more action packed skating? Of course you are! Good night to tune in because this month's best trick obstacle is our Main Street Course Big Hubba! We, here at the park, like to call it the "Moustache Ledge" due to it's super gnarly kinks at the bottom. First off, I want to apologize to the homie in the white t-shirt who skated the contest because I didn't get to grab his name before he bounced out of the park. So for the tonight's recognition his name is the Unknown Soldier. He killed it! Knocking out a frontside 5-0, frontside tailslide, and a backside crooked grind. He also made my "Oh, so close" list of tricks with a 360 flip to 50/50 grind across and down. Mo Herard sitting on the side line popped in to do a perfect nose manual across and down the hubba! That was uber sick! Josue Sanchez stopped by to say "what's up?" with a good gap the pyramid to layback boardslide down the hubba. That was uber doober sick! Dalton Dern also made it out to give a good show too. But tonight's stars were Dalton's little brother Kanaan Dern and OSP's Chad Poore. This was worth gettin' a bag of popcorn and kickin' up your feet to watch their bag of tricks spill out all over the ledge. First was Kanaan's ollie from top of pyramid over the hubba to flat. He also threw a good frontside 180 over the hubba too to make the crowd go wild. Chad started off strong with a breath taking kickflip back 50/50. He then followed himself up with a good backside lipslide down the hubba. Kanaan then got some more brownie points by frontside lipping down the hubba. With time running low Chad calls out his trick. He landed the back lip but he then put a little bit more into the trick to start sliding a kickflip back lip, which is absolutely nutty! Kanaan also bumped his trick to the next level with a gap the pyramid to frontside lipslide. Only a couple tries later Kanaan nails his gap to lip perfectly. With a few tries left in the contest Chad takes a hard slam from not locking into the back lip properly and falls to flat. He quickly brushes off the slam to bring you a majestic kickflip backlip! "So, who won?" you maybe asking? I've got two Orlando Skatepark riders and one free pair of VANS shoes. (Drumroll!) With Kanaan taking the unofficial, official second place, Chad is walking away with a nice bruise from his slam, an awesome trick landed and this month's free VANS shoes! Congrats to Chad, and Kanaan too, for doing what they do best and everyone else for coming out to support the contest! Come out next month and check out our, ever so famous, Mini Ramp Jam for next month's best trick contest!

The March best trick on the large box was pretty crowded, a lot of the locals showed up for this one. Yeah the 50/ 50s, smiths and occasional back tails were common, but there were only a few that were able to shine. Right away Brian Abraham, a Vans local, set the bar high with fakie 50 / 50 double flip out. Some really tech tricks being dished out by a kid named Andrew (sorry didn't get last name) pulling a super steeezy over crook to lip to big spin out. As the 15 minute mark came up and my paper still relatively blank, Anthony pulled a 50 / 50 late kickflip out. With only a few really good tricks in the mix, it took me a little while to figure out who won. The decision was Tyler Thompson with the nollie back 5-0 backside 180 out. Telling the kids who wins is always a little stressful when its close like this, but this time some of the kids actually cheered on the decision. Over all the event was awesome! Join us next month!
