As always we had our local kids hitting the rail like Brian Abraham, Anthony Carillo, Kenny Cano Big Bruce and Steven Rosenthal..the list goes on. We had about 10 riders in the contest trying to show what they can do to win a free pair of shoes. We saw a front feeble, front feeble to 50-50, board slide-shuv out, feeble up the rail and a board slide up the rail. The real battle was between local little ripper Steven Rosenthal and Big Bruce. Bruce was landing tricks like krook down, krook- back lip, feeble up, but his banger was his nose blunt down the rail. Steven answered back with a front blunt to fakie! Every local and spectator didn't know which way to go with this one, Bruce for the nose blunt or Steven with the Front blunt fakie. After talking to some riders, everyone wanted to give it to Steven Rosenthal because it is harder to hold a front blunt on a rail of that size than a nose blunt. Steven went home with the shoes and a spot on the monthly winner's plaque.

Boy, what a cold misty night here in the "City of the Beautiful". But as the frigid sprinkles come down, our best trick contest is heating up! All I have to say is what a show! To start things off, like every contest, you gotta get the basics out of the way. Dalton Dern starting out the night with a perfect kickflip backside disaster...that's right, I said basics and it was first try! Kanaan Dern came blazing with a feeble to 50-50 grind combo. Jason Walker, one of our older ultimates, powered through a textbook laid back frontside 5-0. Another bowl rider decided to get some recognition and came to the street course and gave us a few more old skool tricks to drop our jaws over. Chris Salazar migrated over with a ride up boneless back to bank. He stuck it a bunch of times and came oh so close! Josiah Portillo gave the contest a bunch of heat stopping back noseblunts. He got so close so many times but unfortunately didn't land it. So have you heard the David Bowie album "The Man Who Sold the World"? Well tonight it was a spoof off the album because it was Dalton Dern who Owned the World...tonight the world was the wallride. Dalton played hard defense with a gnar kickflip melon, a blunt to fakie, blunt kickflip to fakie and even a 540! Who does that on a bank to wall? With all his show stopping maneuvers one had to out do them all. It was his Blunt backside flip back into the wallride. It was perfect like all of his other tricks and it was only 5th try! So to call it night, it was Dalton Dern who stole first, second, and third base. Oh yeah, and did I mention he stole the contest? See you guys at our next month's best trick where we are hosting it on our Big Pyramid Rail.
