The best trick this week was on the step on main street course. The locals totally dominated the obstacle this month. Some of the tricks thrown down were nollie tre, back 360's, double flips, huge tail grab shuv it. The crowd was really into this one and I could hear the roars all the way up in the retail store. It came down to the last few minutes and local Justin Drysen threw down a huge back bigspin to flat. The crowd went nuts! Didn't think anyone could top that, but one last run for 3-time best trick champ Brian Abraham. Bam! Brian throws down a monster tre double flip to flat! This was a tough one to decide as the judge and kids thought both these tricks were crazy. In the end, Brian took home his fourth victory and the pair of shoes with a ridiculous tre double flip to flat.

This month's contest was on a ridiculously steep hip with a diagonal box on the top of it that is not an everyday bump to ledge. This is definitely a mans spot, and the boys took the initiative and grabbed some pine to watch the action unfold. It started off with Ted Isbell, Joe Ceravolo, Kyle Jackson, and Jared "Hooger" Hoogerhyde riffling off the basics: 50-50 BOOM, 5-0 BOOM, Smith grind BOOM, Smith grind to fakie BOOM, Tailslide BOOM, all in a row. Then things started heating up... people started putting their bodies on the line. Jacob Watkins went all out trying an impossible to 50-50. Jacob Portillo was getting everybody pumped trying to do a noseblunt slide tail grab. His brother Josiah Portillo was getting close to a nollie heel flip noseslide but never pulled it off. After about 10 Black Label flavored slams Joe pulled off a full speed bs bluntslide to fakie that really set the vibe for everyone else to step it up. So Damon Hall decided to do just that. Damon put down a 360 flip to 5050 followed by a bs double flip on the hip by Hooger. In the middle of all this chaos Kyle Jackson's destruction never let up. He murdered the ledge with just about every trick you could think of, bs tailslide, bs lipslide, bs 5-0, fs nosegrind, and a nollie 5-0 just to name a few. He also got down and dirty on the abnormally steep hip with a solid nollie bigspin heelflip and a nollie fs 360 heelflip. Teddy Isbell was getting worked trying a kickflip fs 5-0 on the ledge and just as things started to wind down Damon Hall blasted a gigantic frontside flip on the hip. And then...it came. Could it have been the most deserved trick of the year? Can you catch a falling star without burning your hand? Such is this month's (and possibly years) best trick, an explosive NOLLIE HEELFLIP TO FRONTSIDE TAILSLIDE by a fellow named Matthew Pinto. He tried this trick nearly the entire contest and wasn't going to stop until he landed it. I promise you that Matt earned every bit of that trick and will undoubtedly be sore tomorrow after the beating he took. Congrats to Matt for taking home the pair of shoes and to everyone who came out and participated in the contest.
