This month's best trick was hosted at the main mini ramp. We did it not as a best trick but a jam format. All of our regular best trick participants were present; Brian Abraham, Alex Tennison, Chris and Justin Drysen, Lil E, Charlie Blair, David Powers. Even with the confusion of the best trick versus the jam format, there was only one rider who stood out in the pack...Charlie Blair. This kid has airs like no one's business, at times over 4 feet from the coping! Charlie would charge from the pool extension getting as much momentum as possible, air out of the 5ft section, foot plant on the bottom rail of the vert deck/spectator section and drop back in...this is over 6 feet high! It was incredible, also with kids trying to snake him he would air over 2-3 kids head high when they had their boards ready to drop in on the coping. Charlie took the shoes this month.

This month we threw down on the outdoor course concrete step-up which requires a considerable amount of speed and a boat-load of pop just to get up. So dude, let's talk about these dudes and what they done did. Kevin Sikes got things popping with his always popular first try "lazy" tre-flip and spent the rest of his time trying to nail down a not so lazy nollie big heel. He finally got it...Sikes!!! Next time little fella. Eric Testerman got two things that night, one being a membership and the other a steezy 360 shuv. Local Kanaan Dern came through with a few bangers including a kickflip gap to 50-50 on an adjacent ledge, a huge ollie from the backside of the step-up transition to the deck and his nollie gap back 50 attempt. Other honorable "coulda shoulda woulda" mentions include Jake Goodrich's big flip, Steve Oterros 540 flip, Oliver's nollie 540 shuv it, Dalton Dern's backside 360 kickflip, and Testermans hardflip. But as always, it only counts if you land it!! In the end, it was Patrick Reed a.k.a "Magic" doing what the Magic do best...win by a landslide!! Congrats Magic on that POP SHUV-IT LATEFLIP and the free pair of shoes you won with it. Keep thrashing and we'll see everyone out here next month on our freshly implemented diamond box ledge in the warm-up course.
