The annual Motocross of Nations is a sort of "Olympics of MX," where the best three riders from each country compete against one another for worldwide bragging rights. And with this year's race being held in England, Team USA was forced to not only beat the best riders on the planet, but also conquer inclement weather and a challenging track. Despite the tough conditions, Villopoto and the crew pulled through in nail-biting fashion, winning by just five points over Team France and Team Belgium.
The race also served as Villopoto's last on a Lites bike. Next year, Ryan will compete on a 450cc as a member of Team Monster Kawasaki. Look for Villopoto's debut at Anaheim in early January!
