Villopoto Wins Championship!

With two full rounds of action still to go in the 2008 series, RV needed only to put in a sub par (for him) performance to lock up the title early at Spring Creek MX Park. In moto number one, Villopoto rocketed out to another brilliant start, and went on to lead every lap of the race for a convincing win. Needing only to finish eighth or better in moto two to capture the title, RV's luck appeared to have momentarily run out, as the Vans phenom crashed on lap number one and was forced to start the moto from the back of the pack. After a hard charge to the front, however, Ryan made his way up to the second spot by moto's end, and took home the championship! "I'm really stoked to wrap up the title early," said Ryan after the race. "It feels great to go into these last two rounds with no pressure."
