Friday Night Rail Jam: Quick Results

Chas Guldemond and Molly Aguirre claimed the first two titles at the Vans Cup at Tahoe Friday night at Northstar-at-Tahoe, each taking top honors in the Rail Jam. An open qualifying jam brought a bunch of new names into Rail Jam finals, and Guldemond, a New Hampshire native, led an East Coast contingent of guys who took top spots on the podium after a couple of frenzied of hours under the lights. Guldemond, who had previously taken third in the 2006 Vans Cup Slopestyle, claimed $10,000, while Aguirre, a Minnesota native who now camps in Mammoth Lakes, won $3,000 for her efforts Friday night.

Action continues through the weekend with many of snowboarding brightest stars such as Danny Kass, Andreas Wiig, Antti Autti, and Leanne Pelosi competing in Saturday’s Slopestyle comp and Sunday’s Superpipe contest which is sure to be epic with more than $80,000 up for grabs.
