Lucky for me there were some firing lefts that were coming in every day and I was able to sneak a couple in "almost" all of my heats. I made it to the quarterfinals and then my luck ran out and I lost there. This has been my best WQS event result and I'm super stoked that it happend at the beginning of the year in a 6 star. Hopefully this will help pave my 08 tour results and I can do well in the the other few comps here in Australia. I'm off to the Gold Coast now, my home for the next 6 weeks to train and have some fun in warm water and hopefully surf my brains out until the next contest down on the Central Coast.

Here's a picture of what Surfers Paradise looks like at 4:00am in the morning from a little fishing boat. Â
We woke up at 3:30am to surf South Straddie and get it when the light first comes up. Unfortuntley first light is 4:00am, so that means an extremely early wake up call. It was well worth it though!!!
