Vans will provide team riders with footwear and apparel as well as bring a season-long presence in the pits on race days. Everyone at Vans is very excited to announce a recently signed multi-year agreement with rising young motocross rider Ryan Villopoto. In 2007, the 19-year-old Villopoto won both the AMA Supercross and Motocross Lites Championships. In 2008, Villopoto will ride his final season in the Lites class and he will also get to see his first endorsed shoe, the Vans Tolan, hit stores in June.
Congratulations to Bede Durbidge winning not only the Bilabong Pipeline Masters by scoring the highest single wave score of the event, 9.50 out of 10.00, but the Vans Triple Crown of Surfing Title for the best overall performance! These titles earned him $75,000 in cash and prizes, which is the biggest payday in Pro Surfing History. What a great way to wrap up the Vans Triple Crown of Surfing competition this year, way to go Bede!
