After you get that new board over the holidays, come out to Vans Skatepark in Orange, CA to brush up on your skate skills. Vans Skatepark will be holding two instructional skateboard clinics on January 21st and February 25th from 8am - 12pm. Vans approved instructors will be offering their knowledge for beginner to advanced street skateboarders ages 6 - 16 and the cost is $40 for members and $50 for nonmembers. Spots are limited so sign up today at the park!

The Phantom Gallery in Long Beach, CA will be the place to be on Thursday, January 5th as Vans presents "Under The Radar" Heel Bruise x Stussy Photo Exhibit. The exhibit will be featuring images from Vans skater Ray Barbee, Vans designer Jon Warren and Syndicate blogger Jeff Potocar among many talented photographers. It will be going off from 6pm - 10pm.

Oliver Peck Featured in Inked Mag. and Premieres in New Show

Vans' long time friend and renowned tattoo artist, Oliver Peck (always with a tooth pick in his mouth) has a killer feature in the January Inked Magazine. He talks about his newest endeavor, being a judge on Spike TV's "Ink Master." This competition won't be a walk in the park my friends. Oliver says, "In Ink Master it's not like you messed up some dessert and someone can't eat it- you're making tattoos. A lot is on the line." The show airs Wednesday's at 10pm beginning on January 18th. Check it.

Join us on Thursday, January 19th and Friday, January 20th at the Vans Skatepark in Orlando for two special events celebrating 10 great years in Orlando, FL. First up is BMX night on Jan. 19th from 6pm - 10pm. Vans BMX Pros Cory Nastazio, Scotty Cranmer, Colin Mackay, Trey Jones and special guests will be in attendance. Next up is a skate night on Jan. 20th from 6pm - 10pm with Vans skate pros Tony Trujillo, Omar Hassan and Alex Perelson. Vans congratulates Snow Team rider Cheryl Maas on her Women's Video Part of the Year nomination for Open Air with the winner awarded at the 13th Annual TransWorld SNOWboardingRiders’ Poll at Fillmore Auditorium in Denver on January 27th, 2012. A Riders' Poll award is even more special in that each category winner is determined by their fellow pro riders. Additionally, the Vans-sponsored video, Shoot the Moon/Videograss featuring Darrell Mathes and Zac Marben, has been nominated for Video of the Year.

I-POD Takes 3rd Place Winter Dew Tour

Vans Team Rider Iouri "I-Pod" Podlachikov took third place in Superpipe at the first stop of the Winter Dew Tour in Breckenridge, CO this past Saturday, December 17th. I-Pod threw down an amazing second run with three straight double corks including a cab double rodeo for a score of 90.0. I-Pod's first run was even cleaner and might have won him the whole thing, but he landed flat on his final hit, an Ally-Oop 540 that smashed his face into the snow, breaking his goggles and possibly even his nose!

Coat Drive Tomorrow at House of Vans

If you're in the Brooklyn, NY area this Saturday, December 17th, the House of Vans is hosting its Second Annual Coat Drive from 1pm - 6pm. There will be a best trick contest for cash and sneakers and live performances from DJ PF Cuttin and McRad. Admission to the event is a new or slightly used coat to be donated to NYCares. Last year we collected over 400 coats, this year help us get a 1,000!

Congratulations goes out to Kieren Perrow who won his inaugural ASP World Tour event, taking out the Billabong Pipe Masters in Memory of Andy Irons over fellow countrymen Joel Parkinson in four-to-six foot waves. Vans Team rider John John Florence also found his way to the podium as the overall winner of the 2011 Vans Triple Crown making him the youngest competitor to win that title. Big ups guys!

It's been an epic 2011 for a Vans Surf Team that needs to look no further than to the 41st Annual SURFER Poll Awards held December 6th at the Turtle Bay Resort on the North Shore for validation as to how far the Vans surf program has come with much more on tap as we approach 2012. Big ups to Award Winners: Heavy Water (Big wave charging): Nathan Fletcher, Breakthrough Performer: John John Florence, Best Digital Short: Lost Interest featuring Dane Reynolds, Dane Reynolds was also runner-up to 17-time SURFER Poll #1 Surfer Kelly Slater, despite pleas from Kelly to Surfer readers in his 2010 acceptance speech to vote for Dane this year.

Stecyk III, Lance Dawes and Tobin Yelland. Chronicling their lives and careers behind the camera, "Pave the Way" featured early pages, covers and out-takes from iconic skate magazines including Thrasher, Slap and Skateboarder as well some of the most pivotal photographs in skateboard history.

Florence Wins Vans World Cup to Take Vans Triple Crown Lead

Vans Surf Team rider and Hawaii's John John Florence has stood on the sand at Sunset Beach watching the crowning of surfing champions since he was 6-years-old. Today, at 19, he stood on the podium, having realized his childhood dream of winning the Vans World Cup at Sunset Beach, and taking the lead on the coveted Vans Triple Crown presented by Rockstar Energy Drink series ratings. It was an overwhelming victory for Florence, who surfed in his first Vans Triple Crown event at the tender age of 12.
