Baggett leaves Hangtown with 2nd place in 250 class!

Reigning 250 Class Champion Blake Baggett has not lined up on a starting gate since the opening round of Monster Energy Supercross in January. The time away from competition not only allowed Baggett to recover from a wrist injury, but also ensure he was at his best for the challenging summer season. Baggett picked up the 2013 season where he left off in 2012 by cementing himself at the front of the field and challenging for the overall win. While he ultimately missed out on duplicating his victorious effort at Hangtown from a year ago, Baggett was still in the mix during each moto, posting 3-2 finishes to land second overall. “Obviously I wanted to win and start this season off right, but it’s hard to complain about a podium finish with so many good riders out there,” said Baggett. “ We’ll learn from this weekend and come out event stronger next weekend.”
After a stellar debut season in the 450 Class last season, Mitch Payton added a second bike to his stable for 2013 with Tyla Rattray and Dean Wilson.

Rattray led the way for the effort at Hangtown with a consistent day that resulted with a top-10 finish. The former world champion and veteran rider knew coming into the season that consistency would be the key in the highly talented 450 Class and he was just that at the opening round, posting a pair of ninth-place moto results to finish ninth overall.

“There’s a lot of guys who know how to get the job done out there, so I just wanted to find my place and set a good tone for the season,” said Rattray. “I definitely want to be up front with the big names, but it’s a long season and it was good to get a solid foundation. We’ll just look to make improvements from here.”

This next weekend heads to Denver, Co Thunder Valley Motocross Park!

Welcome aboard Adam Cianciarulo to the VANS MOTO CREW!

Monster Energy Kawasaki Team Green rider Adam Cianciarulo will be on the gate for the entire 2013 AMA Pro Motocross season with today’s announcement that the 16-year-old rider will make his professional debut on May18th at Hangtown. Cianciarulo will race for one of the most decorated teams in AMA motocross history as he joins the Monster Energy/Pro Circuit/Kawasaki stable riding the No. 292!

“I can’t wait for the season to start,” said Cianciarulo. “This is something I’ve been dreaming about since I saw my first ever supercross race when I was 4 years old. To be able to race for Mitch Payton and the Monster Energy/Pro Circuit/Kawasaki team is an honor. I am looking to learn a lot this year because everyone knows how good this team is and I know my job is to put more number one plates on the door of the truck.”

“Obviously we have been watching Adam for a long time,” said Monster Energy/Pro Circuit/Kawasaki’s Mitch Payton. “He is a special kid who will bring a lot to the team this summer. I know he has been working hard all spring to get ready to race and we are going to provide him with the best equipment on the track. It will also help him to have veteran teammates like Blake (Baggett), Martin (Davalos), Dean (Wilson) and Tyla (Rattray) who can help him as he makes the jump to professional racing.”

AC #292 will line up on the gate for his professional racing debut on Saturday, May 18 at The Hangtown Motocross Classic in Rancho Cordova, Calif

Bowers wins his first Supercross Victory!

Bowers put himself in a good position at the start of the Eastern Regional Main Event, moving into second place early and setting his sights on the front of the field. After following early leader Gavin Faith for a couple laps, Bowers made his move to the front of the field and proceeded to check out on the competition. After holding a multiple second advantage for the majority of the 15-lap main event, Bowers withstood some late pressure from Marvin Musquin to emerge with his first career supercross victory.

“I can’t believe I’m in this position right now, it’s unbelievable,” exclaimed Bowers. “This just goes to show that all the hard work I’ve put into arenacross the last few years paid off. I would have never had this chance if Mitch Payton hadn’t given me a call so I cannot thank him enough for taking a shot at letting me ride a Monster Energy/Pro Circuit/Kawasaki bike. I also wouldn’t be here without the dedication of Team Babbitt’s Monster Energy Kawasaki and everything they’ve done for me in arenacross. This is such an amazing night and a great way to end the season.”

Bowers finished the Eastern Regional Championship with 59 points in three starts, which moved him to 16th overall with an impressive average finish of 3.33.

As he headed into the East/West Shootout, Bowers was hoping to keep the momentum from his win going into the 10-lap sprint. Following a start outside the top five, Bowers looked to make some early passes but suffered from misfortune in the process. He dropped to the tail end of the field, but was able to remount and battle his way to a 14th-place finish.

Davalos Takes Third place in Salt Lake City!

Davalos was once again on his game in Salt Lake City, setting the tone for a good day after pacing the opening practice session and posting the second-fastest time of the afternoon. In his heat race, Davalos grabbed a good start and checked out on the field to win his second consecutive heat race and prime gate pick for the main event. Following a tough start that left him outside the top 10 initially, Davalos had his work cut out for him in the 15-lap main event. He moved into seventh by the conclusion of the opening lap and began his upward climb until securing third place on Lap four.

Once in podium position Davalos pressured Cole Seely for second in the final laps, but he could not make the pass and settled for his third trip to the podium this season. “I didn’t make it easy on myself, but I’m happy to come out with a podium finish,” said Davalos. “It wasn’t easy gaining ground or making passes, but I knew I had to keep digging to get where I wanted to be.” Davalos moved into fifth in the championship thanks to his inspired performance. He faces a 10-point deficit to fourth heading into the final race of the season.

Seatlle Supercross Results are in for the the Vans Moto crew!

Following an eight-race break, Monster Energy/Pro Circuit/Kawasaki riders Tyla Rattray and Martin Davalos returned to the track for the Western Regional 250SX Class Championship of Monster Energy AMA Supercross. A rainy day inside Seattle’s CenturyLink Field signified the West Region’s first race since February’s San Diego stop, and despite showing impressive speed throughout the day, Rattray and Davalos experienced mixed results at the end of the night.

While the results for both riders may not show it, Rattray and Davalos showed the progression the team made during the midseason break. With only two rounds remaining in the 2013 season, each rider has an opportunity to not only finish the season strong with a presence on the podium, but also continue their climb up the standings.

“It was tough out there, so I’m really happy to walk away with such a strong result,” said Rattray. “We started off slow trying to get everything adjusted to the conditions, but when it came time to go, we just went out there and made it happen. This is definitely the kind of result to build off of and finish out strong.”

“My speed was there all day, I just made some mistakes in the main event,” said Davalos. “I wish I would have gotten a better start, but I’m happy with how I was able to come through the field on such a tough track. It wasn’t the result I was hoping for, but I know I have the speed to get back onto the box before the season wraps up.”

Pro Circuit heads North of the Border

Vans Monster Energy Pro Circuit Kawasaki’s Justin Hill headed to Toronto, Canada for the 2013 Monster Energy Supercross 250SX East series. With both of his teammates out with injury, the rookie Hill was flying the Monster Energy/Pro Circuit/Kawasaki flag solo. After posting a good qualifying lap and finishing second in his heat race, Hill was determined to get on the podium. On the first lap, contact with another rider sent Hill to the ground and forced him to retire early. Hill started the day setting the seventh fastest time during qualifying and the rookie rider was starting to feel comfortable on the Toronto dirt. In his heat race, he got a good jump out of the gate and came around the first lap in second place. He hung with the leader throughout the six-lap heat and was poised for a strong main event. Coming through the first set of jumps on the first lap of the main, Hill was landed on and went down hard. During the crash, he injured his right arm and is being checked out this week by doctors to see if he will be able to race the next event.

Toronto Supercross This weekend!

VANS Monster Energy Pro Circuit will unfortunately be down a rider as the Monster Energy Supercross Eastern Regional 250SX Class Championship heads north of the border this weekend in Toronto. Following a crash in his heat race last weekend, Dean Wilson will be out of action indefinitely with an injury. As a result, rookie Justin Hill will lead the way in Wilson's absence. Hill has made steady improvements with each round that passes. Last weekend in Indy, Hill equaled his best finish of the season with a strong fifth-place finish. The opportunity to improve on that and provide Pro Circuit with strong results for the remainder of the season is one Hill is excited about. “I'm ready to step up and show I have the speed to challenge for the podium," said Hill. "I've been really happy with my progress and I know I have what it takes to get the job done. I'm looking forward to it"!

Justin Hill earns top 5 finish at Indy SX!

Vans Monster Energy Pro Circuit Kawasaki’s Justin Hill and Dean Wilson battled it out at the fifth round of the 2013 Monster Energy Supercross 250SX East series in Indianapolis. Hill rode a consistent heat race and main event to score a top 5 finish while Wilson was the fastest during practice but a hard crash in the heat sidelined him for the main event.

Hill had a strong run in his heat race, getting a good jump out of the gate and he rode consistent for the six laps to easily advance to the main event. In the feature race, Hill rounded the first corner near the back of the field, but the rookie rider remained composed and slowly worked his way up. THe tacky dirt at Indianapolis allowed for some passing and Hill took advanage moving up to fifth by the end of the 15-lap main event.

Daytona Results are in

Vans Monster Energy Pro Circuit Kawasaki’s Dean Wilson and Justin Hill battled it out at the fourth round of the 2013 Monster Energy Supercross 250SX East series, which was held this past Saturday at the historical Daytona Motor Speedway in Daytona Beach, FL. Wilson was the fastest 250SX East rider of the night and, after finishing fourth in the 250SX East Main Event, is currently only five points out of the lead in 250SX East championship point standings. Hill is getting stronger with each race and never gave up as he rebounded from starting outside the top-ten to finish sixth!
