Snow: Vans Cirro - Fit Bar FAIL - but I love the boots anyway!

    Ok,

Just want to get a feeling from anyone else who has the new Cirro's with the Quadfit Custom Thermal Liner (with the red and yellow fit bars).

If you want to take a look at them here is a link to their pic.
[A HREF="http://vanssnow.com/tech/boot_tech.html"]http://vanssnow.com/tech/boot_tech.html[/A]  Scroll to the liners it's the last one.

Now the instruction card that comes with the boots shows an additional pic with the bar placed directly behind the ball joint of your ankle and superimposed over a faded boot sillohuette.  Makes sense, it would cup your ankle reducing heel lift and giving an all around snugger feel.  Now when you look at the actual boot you'll see the bar can only go directly over your ankle!  So the first pic lies and the actual placing effectively bruises your ankle and all around ruining your day (I know this personally).  The instructions say to adjust it, but there is no way to move the fit bar back due to the lace straps.  (see pic again).

Now the pro to this boot is I just took them out and with the dual boa was able to easily crank them down comfortably to zero to none heel lift.  All of this without going numb or bruising the ball joint of my ankles.  So my stake is I love these boots but my question is why do these fit bars exist?  Did anyone test them in the field?  Am I missing something with the fitting?  Cuz by my diagnosis FitBar = Epic FAIL and my only conclusion is they were thrown in the boot as a marketing ploy.
