Skate: Indoor skateparks in the Great NorthWET!! There aren't any.

  • 12/14/2008 at 11:30 #1

yeah. well that's because those stupid ass skateparks were in sunny places like ontario, CA, and bakersfield, CA. It's too hot in bakersfield to skate indoor...and it's too nice out in ontario to skate indoor. but in stupid ass washinton there are lots of reasons...rain, rain, and oh yeah. lots of that wet stuff that clouds make. there is only three months out of every year where kids can skate. that leaves 9 great months of business for vans or whoever ends up taking this mad genius idea and using it.

Don't hold your breath dude, in the past couple of years vans has closed all but two of its skateparks. I don't expect them to start building new parks any time soon. I used to live in Seattle so I now exactly where you live and have even skated that free concrete park you guys have. With a free concrete skatepark in almost every town having an indoor park is financially a struggle, also when its not raining no one will be at your indoor pay park.

Oh well thanks. That's cool. I thought you meant my blog was dull as in not very colorfully worded. I am very much into skateboarding up here and am just trying to get this sport bigger as fast as I can. My moms littlest brother, was sponsored by vans for skating for a few years and he really influenced me into take skating seriously. So here I am trying to do so. it's just hard in the wettest part of the country.

Hey everyone! I live in Vancouver, Washington. I am at the verybottomof Washington. Just above Portland, Oregon. So far, I've livedhere for7 years. I am super tired of all the damn rain in this area. The onlyplaces there are to skate where you don't get in trouble, are DOS(department of skateboarding) , and the famous Burnside skatepark. DOSis an all right park but is a little small for the sizeof Portland andVancouver's skateboarding community. I am originallyfrom southernCalifornia and have been to multiple Vans Indoor Skateparks . Whatmakes me laugh is that those parks are indoor, in the one of the mostsunny places on the west side of the U.S.
I am wanting someone tonotice how we really need something here inVancouver. I am sure I couldget at least a few hundred other skatersto agree with me on this idea. Not only would it be convenient foreveryone in the NorthWET
,but also, it would most likelybring a lot of publicity for vans andother skate brands and businessup here. So someone please let me knowwhat your opinion is on thislets make a change for the people insouthern Washington, and NorthernOregon. Thanks!
