Here's some shots of yesterday's Vans Pro Round 2 Heats 1-12. We called it a day early due to conditions but there were definitely some good moments before then. Our thoughts are with BMX rider Brett Banasiewicz for a full and quick recovery. Banasiewicz was injured on Thursday during practice and was tended to by first responders immediately and transported to an area hospital for treatment. We have received encouraging news from his family and direct well wishers to the Banasiewicz family skatepark (The Kitchen, South Bend, IN.) Here is their Facebook page for updates.Vans ECSC 2012
Our inagural LXVI BMX Invitational kicks off here in Virginia Beach tomorrow, Friday, as part of this year's ECSC. The course got it's final touches this morning and then the riders were allowed a few hours of open practice before this weekend's contest. If you're in the area come out to see 20 top pros compete, the full schedule & rider list can be found here.
Today our favorite photo from the beach came courtesy of @ashley_wadz on Instagram. They look like they had fun today. If you're here at the event tag your photos with #ECSC and we are posting our favorite each day.
The Vert ramp opened up today as well & the first crew out there put on a locals demo. Here's a few shots of those guys, and gal. We'll have a couple of Vans Vert & BMX demos tomorrow and Saturday, so be sure to check back for those photos & videos.
...and people who like to have a lot of fun. Check out all these faces I met on the beach today, hula hooping was obviously a big hit with everyone. The Vans x Minx nails station had lines for days & will be open tomorow too if you are coming out swing by for some free nail art. Vendor Village is now open through the weekend with tons of free goodies, games, and photobooths. There will also be live music on the Vans stage right by the competition starting tomorrow afternoon.
It was a lay day for the Vans Pro & Pro Jr. today so the crew hit the streets to take in some of the local sites. Here's a few of the Instagram gems from the day. Brogie & Nathan Florence bought swords (help us all.) Andrew Doheny hit up the haunted something or other, and Dane Gudauskas got the mother of all air brushed t-shirts. Not bad for an off day. We'll see you here at 7AM EST for the official call tomorrow. The dudes seem to think it'a a go, so I wouldn't sleep in.
