Friday we ran the Vans Pro with better conditions & tons of people coming out to watch the event. Here's some highlights from the surfing side.
The Vendor village continued today with tons of demos from local athletes as well as the Vans teams. The LXVI Invitational prelims also went down on the BMX course, and music kicked off with Torche & The Growlers on the Vans & Coastal Edge stage. Take a look at some highlights from it all.
Today's photo of the day from @olivershelby on Instagram. Keep tagging your photos with #ECSC if you're coming out & we're posting our favorites daily.
The Growlers played for us last night on the Vans & Coastal Edge stage at ECSC. Our whole crew was psyched to see their set, and it was awesome. The guys sounded great, people were dancing, and Andrew Doheny was front and center. Be sure to check out the guys upcoming shows all over the US and in Canada.
Volcom presented Torche on the Vans & Coastal Edge stage last night. Everyone was tired from a long hot day but good tunes were a great way to close things out. This one group of kids climbed a riser and got the best seat in the house, and the little groms invented all sorts of new mosh tactics including this one which I have nicknamed the flying frog. We appreciate the team effort there guys, nice work.
The Fox Freestyle MX crew is putting on demos for the crowd out here all weekend. The kids in the crowd were in complete awe of the three riders and there wasn't a girl out there who didn't scream when they started turning things upside down with a round of back flips and tricks.
The Aragona Project was a local band that played the Vans & Coastal Edge stage last night after all the surfing, skating, and bike demos wound down. Looks like they are playing some upcoming local shows here in Virginia Beach so if you live in the area be sure to check them out. Ps. This kid in the sand had some crazy dance moves, even stuck in there for the whole set. He was killing it.
We just got a few extra photos of Vans riders Andrew Doheny, Tanner Gudauskas, and Dane Gudauskas from yesterday's Vans Pro rounds. These were shot by Travis Owney, and you can see more surf photos from the whole event at ecsc360.com
Nevermind that most of us have been here almost a week, Gavin finally found the right Virginia. Go Gavin.
Thursday we got back into the contest after Wednesday's lay day with the Vans Pro Men's rounds. Here's the surfing highlights from the day.
We also got into the second day of the rest of the festival being open with Skate, BMX, MX demos, and tons happening in Vendor Village.
Pretty faces all around. Virginia Beach was killing it today for the ECSC Vendor Village and Vans Pro contest. As we get into the weekend even more games, concerts, and demos are happening here and the crowd definitely came out today. Stay tuned for some photos from the Vans Skate & BMX demo as well as the Fox MX show.
