Super impressive Am contest to kick today off. The announcers might have said 'that was proper' and 'watch out pros' about seventeen times. Here are some results. Pro finals coming up.

Saturday & The White House

Posted 09/04/2011 by Amanda

Just wrapped up a pretty serious dinner with the team and Vans crew. Who rolls in with 27 people and asks for a table.... Oh, oops. Once we finally made it to said table the guys were passing around plenty of stories from the day. After a rain delay this morning, the Pro dudes had a super long day on the contest and some of the Ams hit up the White House. Somehow Acosta made it to both to shoot some sick photos. A few favorites below, and tons more on the Vans Flickr. We'll see you live here tomorrow at noon EST for the Am contest & Pro finals.

Layton Advances to Semi Finals

Posted 09/03/2011 by Amanda

Vans rider Johnny Layton makes it through the qualifiers and is headed to Semi-Finals with 11 others from this morning. The top 12 from the last Maloof Cup in New York a few months back will join them. Looking at 24 expected riders in this round in the Jam's listed below. We all saw Collin Provost make the sickest transfer in practice yesterday, wonder if we'll see it again in his first heat today, coming up.

Friday Open Practice

Posted 09/02/2011 by Amanda

Today was pretty much best case scenario. The weather was sick, the dudes were stoked, and the course was finally complete. The guys skated so long that we had to order 25 pizzas and put them right in the middle of the course to make sure they all ate something. We won't talk about how last night turned into a rager and everyone ended up renting bikes and riding home in the rain at 4:00 Am. Well, actually I guess that was talking about it, so just build your mental picture from that. Also add me riding on Chima Ferguson's handlebars and Chris Pfanner taking a serious slam and me, Chima, and Daniel Lutheran getting super lost. It was all fun and games... well maybe not if you ask Chris, but moving on... Our photographer Acosta was out there killing today as usual. Here are a few of his shots. Head over to the Vans Flickr to see even more.
