While it's been amazing to see all of the up-and-coming surfers go absolutely nuts at 1st Street this week, it was equally awesome when California style icon Tom Curren won the Clash of the Legends heat today. It's like going back in time! Curren came out rockin his throw-back jersey, but one thing's for sure, his surfing is timeless and his style was complimented perfectly by the sloping walls at Virginia Beach. Each one of his competitors was equally impressive. The former three-time World Champ surfed an amazing battle while Hurricane Irene delivered the goods and beat radical human, surf coach and still-ripping surfer Brad Gerlach, former World Champ and Vans Triple Crown legend Sunny Garcia and East Coast game-changer Todd Holland in what was easily the most classic heat of the event!


The four icons battled it out for 30-minutes before the finals unfolded and it was sick to see they can still bring the thunder!
