... and then Mother Nature was all like, No. Freaking. Way. After spending some time in the beautiful weather at the contest this morning I ran back to the hotel to grab my wallet and found these hurricane update letters plastered around the building. They warned about the storm hitting us this weekend and as I passed a few of the surfers I overheard them getting stoked on it and the hopeful swell it will bring. I headed across the street and jumped in line at this sandwich shop. All the sudden the chairs and tables started shaking and everyone is grabbing things looking super confused. An earthquake? On the East Coast? Yes, seriously. Well at least if the world was ending I had just ordered a killer grilled cheese, right? As it turns out the East Coast isn't used to any case of the Earth Shakes and they all freaked a bit. Once I finally got back to my hotel room, everything seemed fine in my room until I remembered that I had left my laptop on the bed... didn't see it... the earthquake ate my laptop all the way from the 6th floor?! Well not exactly, it just deposited it on the floor. Ouch. Winding the day down now and everything seems back to normal. So we survived the freak earthquake, next up: Hurricane Irene. Dear Virginia, who pissed off Mother Nature? Contest should be on bright and early tomorrow AM to fit in as many rounds as possible, subscribe to our
